I have a long standing passion for science and technology, and in particular for the foundations of quantum mechanics. I enjoy searching for insights into the way it works, and for phenomena which appear counterintuitive at first glance. I believe that the world operates locally, but quantum mechanics has various phenomena which are non-local when described in our usual (classical) language, such as violations of Bell inequalities, counterfactual communication, and the Aharonov-Bohm effect. I study these and related effects, principally using thought experiments to demonstrate specific tasks which can be performed. I’m interested in non-locality, entanglement, quantum conservation laws, quantum retrodiction, quantum information, quantum computation: anything novel with a quantum component!

Recent Posts

Networks of quantum reference frames and the nature of conserved quantities
Whenever we describe the position of an object, we actually mean the position relative to a frame of reference such as a wall, a table, the sun, etc.… Continue reading Networks of quantum reference frames and the nature of conserved quantities

Charge acceleration without radiation
It has always been assumed that whenever we accelerate an electron, it produces electromagnetic radiation, such as light or radio waves.
